Additional functions for an old application.
Project Overview
Our customer provided loans for small businesses and as such generated large amounts of documentation which required archiving electronically for audit purposes. There was also a requirement for version control, so that amendments to printed agreements could be tracked throughout the lifecycle of the loan. These documents were required to be accessible throughout the companies Intranet in a secure manner, and stored with encryption.
Implementation
Smart IT provided a system that allowed users to add and amend documents held in a secure file system. The program provided users with an easy to use interface, which fully integrated with their existing 3rd party billing system seamlessly.
It also automatically intercepted any print jobs from the customers’ billing system and stored an exact copy of the printed document in the secure file system which in turn automatically linked it to the exact area in the billing system from which it was generated.
Our system had full search facilities (including within the actual documents), and provided full document history, comparison and rollback functionality.
It provided document locking preventing multiple users editing the same document, and a full user/role based security system allowing administrators to implement their own security strategy.
It was developed in modules so it could be easily adapted without having to rewrite the entire program.
