How Virtualisation Works?
When we describe a Virtualised Computing Environment we mean an environment where a single Server is running 2 or more Server Operating Systems at the same time.
Virtualisation software enables the Server to share its hardware resources with several Operating Systems. Despite the system having only 1 physical connection to a network many operating systems can use the device as if it is exclusive to itself.
For example
An Organisation needs 3 separate Servers for its Software Based Phone System, CRM system and its Reporting System.
Instead of purchasing 3 new Servers the Organisation only needs to acquire 1.
Special Virtualisation Software is installed onto the new server which then enables an IT Professional to install the 3 separate Server installations as if installing them on 3 separate Servers.
The Virtualisation software controls the behaviour of the 3 Servers but each instance of the Installation is separate to the other.
